Childcare Professionals Renewal Summit at Camp Comeca

2025 Childcare Professionals Renewal Summit Scheduled for August 8-9 in Cozad, Nebraska
The University of Nebraska at Omaha, in collaboration with the Central Region Early Learning Connection, is set to host the 2025 Childcare Professionals Renewal Summit on August 8th and 9th at Camp Comeca, located near Cozad, Nebraska. This two-day event aims to provide valuable training and professional development opportunities for childcare professionals who work with children aged 0 to 8.
The summit will feature an engaging lineup of speakers and sessions designed to address key aspects of early childhood education and development. On the first day, Colleen Schmit will deliver a foundational presentation focused on the significance of returning to core principles in childcare. The following day, Elijah and Sarah Landell from Rising Tide Leadership will lead three sessions that aim to empower participants to embody their priorities, enhance employee engagement, and emphasize the foundational role of values in their professional practice.
A central theme of this year’s summit is the critical importance of early childhood education and the indispensable role that childcare professionals play in shaping young lives. Dr. Danae Dinkel, an associate professor of health and kinesiology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, highlights the value of bringing childcare professionals together for enrichment and support. Such gatherings offer an opportunity for attendees to connect with like-minded individuals, refreshing their passion and commitment to their essential work in education.
The need for high-quality childcare is underscored by recent data indicating that over 72% of children under the age of six in Nebraska reside in households where all adults are employed—a figure that surpasses the national average. This challenging landscape for childcare availability not only affects families but also poses significant economic ramifications for Nebraska, with an estimated 5 million in annual losses attributed to insufficient childcare options. Therefore, the summit serves as an essential platform for addressing these pressing challenges and enhancing the capabilities of childcare providers statewide.
Participants can register for the summit at a cost of for the entire two-day event or for attendance on Saturday only.
