Thanksgiving Celebration and Early Release

Thanksgiving Luncheon and Early Dismissal Announced for Horace Mann and Leet Center Families

In a cherished annual tradition, Horace Mann Elementary School and the Leet Center are set to host their Thanksgiving Luncheon on the Friday preceding Thanksgiving week. This event, which has taken place for many years, fosters community spirit and celebrates the joy of gratitude with families and students alike.

This year, attendees are encouraged to mark their calendars for the early dismissal at 11:50 a.m., which allows families to gather for the festive meal. The luncheon will take place in the JW Jones Union Ballroom and Boardroom, known for their accommodating space that provides an inviting atmosphere for such communal gatherings.

The menu for this year’s Thanksgiving Luncheon will feature a traditional spread, highlighting classic favorites such as roast turkey, buttery mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, freshly baked rolls, and a delightful pumpkin dessert. This thoughtfully curated meal aims not only to satiate appetites but also to create a warm environment for families to celebrate togetherness.

To ensure a smooth experience for all attendees, reservations are required. Families will receive reservation forms both through traditional paper notices sent home with students and via email several weeks in advance of the event. It is essential that these forms are returned by the specified deadline to guarantee seating availability, as the event attracts a significant number of participants each year.

The cost of the meal for guests will be communicated at a later date and may be conveniently added to the child’s existing lunch account. Additionally, special parking and shuttle services will be made available, with details regarding shuttle service lots and arrangements to be shared closer to the date of the luncheon. This thoughtful provision will enhance convenience for all families attending, reducing the stress of parking during the busy holiday season.

As the Thanksgiving Luncheon approaches, it serves as a timely reminder of community, gratitude, and culinary tradition within the Horace Mann and Leet Center family. It encourages reflections on the importance of togetherness, particularly in an educational environment where students and their families play a crucial role in building a supportive community. As such, this event not only marks a festive occasion but also highlights the value of familial engagement in the educational experience of students.
