Sharjah has seen a significant rise in European visitors in 2023, with more than 400,000 tourists flocking to the emirate. This marks a 28% increase from the previous year, with European visitors accounting for 27% of the total number of tourists in Sharjah.
The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) unveiled this news during their participation in the ITB Berlin 2024 travel trade show, which is ongoing until March 7. The theme of the event is ‘Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together’, and Sharjah is making sure to showcase its comprehensive tourism vision.
The emirate is highlighting its key landmarks and unique tourist attractions that have made it a preferred destination for European travelers. German tourists, in particular, rank second in the list of visitors to Sharjah.
SCTDA has brought together 19 government and private entities from Sharjah within the Sharjah Pavilion at the event. This collective display showcases a diverse range of tourism, hospitality, cultural, and entertainment options in the emirate. By highlighting the variety of destinations, services, and offerings, Sharjah is solidifying its position as a top tourist spot in the region.
