Luxury Treehouses Introduced at The Chatwal Lodge

Situated in the picturesque Lower Hudson Valley, amidst the stunning Catskills Mountains and just a short two-hour drive from lively New York City, The Chatwal Lodge has long been known as a peaceful sanctuary for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. And now, this secluded haven is introducing three new treehouses, giving guests a unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the beautiful natural surroundings.

As a sister property to the esteemed The Chatwal in New York, The Chatwal Lodge already offers 11 suites and cottages spread across the historic Chapin Estate, a former 18,000-acre wildlife reserve.

Perched 15 feet above the forest floor, the recently unveiled treehouses have been carefully designed to blend in with the lush canopy. Each treehouse can accommodate up to four guests, with a king-size bedroom on the main level and a queen Murphy bed in the loft.

The interiors of the treehouses are flooded with natural light from expansive windows, providing stunning views of the peaceful Toronto Reservoir. Reflecting the lodge’s commitment to understated luxury, the treehouses feature inviting earth-toned decor paired with carefully selected furnishings like petrified wood and mango root tables, as well as live-edge teak wood slabs.

Ideal for group getaways or family retreats, the treehouses at The Chatwal Lodge offer spacious living areas, luxurious showers with heated floors, covered balconies, and outdoor decks complete with gas fire pits. Despite their rustic charm, these accommodations are equipped with lavish amenities such as Malin & Goetz bath products and fully stocked minibars.

Robert Mallia, Head of Architecture and Construction at Dream Hotels within Hyatt, provided insight into the design philosophy behind The Chatwal Lodge’s treehouses, describing them as a modern take on a traditional concept. Mallia highlighted the calming atmosphere and seamless integration with nature that characterize these unique accommodations.

For guests seeking outdoor activities, The Chatwal Lodge provides a variety of options, including fly fishing, forest bathing, snowshoeing, and duckpin bowling. Plans are also in place to introduce a state-of-the-art pool and spa in 2024, further enhancing the guest experience at this peaceful retreat.
