Annual ‘Toys for Tots’ Initiative Launched by Butterfield & CPC

Butterfield Bank Teams Up with Coalition for the Protection of Children for Annual Toys for Tots Campaign
In a commendable display of community spirit, the Bank of Butterfield has once again aligned its efforts with the Coalition for the Protection of Children (CPC) to launch the annual Toys for Tots campaign. This collaborative initiative aims to gather gifts for underprivileged families during the holiday season, with the collection period running until December 8, 2025.
The partnership between Butterfield and the CPC seeks to alleviate the hardships faced by families during the festive period. According to a spokesperson for Butterfield, this year’s campaign continues the longstanding tradition of supporting families in need, providing not only toys but also essential items to ensure all children feel the joy of the season.
Leading the initiative, prominent figures from both organizations—Johnee Evans, Operations Manager for CPC; Shawnette Griffin, Butterfield’s Head of Retail Banking in Bermuda; Kelly Hunt, Executive Director of CPC; and Jody Feldman, Butterfield’s Managing Director in Bermuda—were present to kick-start the donation drive, emphasizing the importance of community involvement.
From now until Monday, December 8, the community is encouraged to contribute new toys suitable for children up to the age of 12, as well as gift cards for teenagers and vouchers for parents to spend on necessities such as clothing, groceries, or utility bills. Donation drop-off locations have been conveniently established across the island, including:
– Butterfield’s Banking Centres in Front Street, St George’s, and Somerset
– Annex Toys at Phoenix
– Arnold’s Discount Warehouse
– Gorham’s
– Little People’s Pharmacy
– PriceRite stores in Mill’s Creek and Warwick
Importantly, all donations must be unwrapped to facilitate proper distribution to families in need, thereby ensuring that children receive age-appropriate and fitting gifts.
Feldman expressed her enthusiasm for this collaborative effort, stating, “Butterfield is delighted to support the Toys for Tots campaign once again. This initiative is a wonderful opportunity for the community to rally together and help the CPC fulfill its mission of assisting families during the holiday season.” Aiming for a target of 2,500 donated items, the campaign emphasizes the core values of philanthropy and community support.
Kelly Hunt of CPC echoed this sentiment, highlighting the challenges many families face during the holidays. “Toys for Tots aims to inject some joy and holiday spirit into the lives of those in need,” she noted. Hunt further encouraged families to involve their children in the donation process, fostering a sense of giving at an early age.
As the holiday season approaches, the joint efforts of Butterfield and the Coalition for the Protection of Children underline the importance of community solidarity. This campaign serves as a reminder that through collective effort, we can ensure that no child goes without during this special time of year.
