Applications Now Available for Adopt-a-Family in Chino Hills

Chino Hills Launches Adopt-a-Family Program for Holiday Season Support

As the holiday season approaches, the City of Chino Hills has initiated its annual Adopt-a-Family program, aimed at assisting local families in need. The program not only invites families facing financial hardship to apply for support but also encourages community members to step forward as donors. This initiative reflects Chino Hills’ commitment to fostering a caring and supportive community, particularly during a time of year when many face additional financial pressures.

Families wishing to participate in the program must complete an application by the deadline of Monday, November 10. The application process is designed to assess both residency in Chino Hills and the prospective family’s financial situation. It is important to note that acceptance into the program considers special circumstances beyond just income, ensuring that a wide range of families can benefit from this supportive initiative.

Donors interested in adopting a family can select the size of the family they wish to support, with options available for small, medium, or large families. Following the selection process, donors will receive a wish list from the adopted family during the week of November 21. This list typically includes essential items such as clothing and toys, tailored to the specific needs and wishes of the family.

To ensure an organized and efficient donation process, gifts must be wrapped and delivered to the McCoy Equestrian Center, located at 14280 Peyton Drive, by Monday, December 15, during designated hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The collected gifts will be distributed to the participating families in early December, providing them with much-needed cheer and support as the holiday festivities unfold.

For residents who may be unable to adopt an entire family but still wish to contribute, the program also accepts donations of gift cards, which can be particularly beneficial for families to purchase items that may meet their immediate needs.

Community members seeking further information about the Adopt-a-Family program can contact the Chino Hills recreation office at (909) 364-2700 or visit the official website at chinohills.org/adoptafamily. As the seasonal spirit of giving takes hold, the City of Chino Hills stands ready to help its residents connect and support one another, ensuring a joyous holiday season for all.
