Asian Festival in Cleveland breaks records with two attendees winning raffle prize

The Cleveland Asian Festival drew a record 47,000 attendees over the weekend of May 18 and 19, making it the place to be for those looking to celebrate Asian food and culture. With an expanded footprint, the festival featured 50% more food and drink vendors than in previous years, along with a record 48 stage performances across two stages. The event was smoothly run by over 100 volunteers, ensuring that attendees could enjoy the festivities with minimal wait times.

Among the notable guests were local leaders and elected officials, including Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, Brunswick Mayor Ron Falconi, Garfield Heights Mayor Matt Burke, and Cleveland Ward 7 Council member Stephanic D. Howse. Rebecca Cahill, representing FreshWater Cleveland, was also in attendance, meeting readers and signing up new subscribers at the event.

Attendees had the chance to participate in a raffle, with lucky winners Nylah Patterson and Basil Wong taking home gift baskets full of items generously donated by event partners. Patterson received a one-year membership to the Cleveland Museum of Art, a free ad in FreshWater Cleveland, and other goodies. Wong, on the other hand, won an overnight stay at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel, gift certificates, and more.

FreshWater Cleveland was proud to be a media partner for the Cleveland Asian Festival, and co-founder Johnny Wu is already looking forward to next year’s event, set to take place on May 17 and 18, 2025. The festival promises additional expansion next year, aiming to make it an even bigger and better celebration of Asian culture in Cleveland.
