‘Band releases demo track from ‘Moon Safari’ and plans North American tour’
Air has unveiled a previously unreleased demo track from their iconic album ‘Moon Safari’, in addition to announcing an upcoming North American tour. The demo version of ‘New Star in the Sky’ presents a stripped-back rendition of the original album track, giving fans a fresh perspective on the beloved song.
This release comes hot on the heels of January’s revelation that the French electronic duo will be dropping a 25th-anniversary deluxe edition of ‘Moon Safari’ this month. The deluxe edition, set to be released on Friday, March 8th, will feature a collection of rare and unreleased tracks, as well as a documentary capturing Air’s first world tour. Last year, Air released a 25th-anniversary vinyl edition of their debut album, further solidifying their place in music history.
In exciting news for North American fans, Air will be embarking on a tour across the continent later this year. The tour will commence in Vancouver on September 9th and will include stops in major cities such as Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, and more, before wrapping up in Austin, Texas, on October 30th.
Having recently kicked off their European tour, where they performed the entire ‘Moon Safari’ album live for the first time, Air is continuing to captivate audiences with additional tour dates announced earlier this year. Fans can catch the duo at various festivals and venues across Europe, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Sónar Festival in Barcelona, and Medastadt Open Air in Vienna.
