Belfast’s 10th Edition Photo Festival – Embracing Culture
The 10th edition of the Belfast Photo Festival, Northern Ireland’s premier visual arts festival, will showcase works from over 46 international artists. This year’s theme, “Divergence,” will be explored through exhibitions by renowned artists such as Richard Mosse, Matthias Oostrik, and others. The festival aims to delve into how contemporary photographers interpret pressing issues like climate emergencies, rapid digitalization, and ethical dilemmas surrounding artificial intelligence.
Michael Weir, the festival director, expressed his excitement for the 10th edition, stating that the event continues to push boundaries and innovate new ways for audiences to engage with photography. The festival’s growth and appeal as a cultural capital have attracted international artists eager to showcase their work. The Open Submission competition received entries from photographers worldwide, with this year’s award recipient, Adam Rouhana, among the 10 diverse and gender-balanced projects selected by independent judges for presentation at the festival.
The Belfast Photo Festival will take place from June 6th to June 30th, 2024. For more information, visit belfastphotofestival.com.
