‘Collector Car Auction in Houston 2024 Generates .4 Million in Sales’

Mecum Auction’s recent event in Houston showcased a diverse lineup of over a thousand vehicles from April 4-6 at the NRG Center, with 730 cars sold for a total of .4 million. The spotlight was on modern muscle cars and vintage sports cars, with a 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster leading the pack at 7,500. Following closely behind were one of the five 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170s, fetching impressive bids at the event.

The top collector car sales at the Houston 2024 auction included the 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, 2014 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Replica, 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, and more. Classic cars like the 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster and a custom 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible also attracted attention and high bids.

From unique personal collections, the 1983 Duesenberg II Royalton Dual Cowl Phaeton and cars from the Plendl Brothers Bowtie Classics collection were among additional sales at the event. Overall, it was a successful auction with a mix of modern and classic cars captivating bidders and car enthusiasts alike.
