C&c Development and Riverside Charitable Corp. Launch Affordable Housing Initiative in Buena Park
Buena Park, California — In a significant stride towards addressing affordable housing challenges in the region, C&c Development in collaboration with Riverside Charitable Corp. has officially commenced construction on the Lincoln Avenue Apartments. This new housing community, strategically situated in Buena Park, aims to provide essential housing solutions for families and veterans facing financial hardships.
The Lincoln Avenue Apartments project consists of four three-story buildings, with a total of 54 apartments designed specifically for vulnerable populations. Among the units, five are allocated for families with students, 11 are dedicated to veterans, and an additional 13 units will serve as permanent supportive housing for individuals and families with special needs. The apartment sizes range from approximately 500 to 900 square feet, ensuring a variety of living arrangements to accommodate diverse family structures and needs. Importantly, all units will be ADA-accessible and adaptable, aligning with modern standards for inclusivity and accessibility.
A hallmark of this development is its commitment to sustainability. The design of Lincoln Avenue Apartments includes eco-friendly features such as drought-tolerant landscaping, as well as energy-efficient HVAC systems, water heaters, and appliances. These initiatives reflect a growing trend in residential development that prioritizes environmental responsibility alongside social equity.
In addition to the residential units, the community will also offer a range of amenities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents. Planned onsite facilities include a community room for gatherings, a laundry facility, a children’s play area or tot lot, a teen outdoor fitness zone, and a barbecue pavilion, providing both recreation and opportunities for social interaction among residents.
To further support its residents, LifeSTEPS will deliver onsite programming focusing on adult education and after-school activities for children. This initiative underscores the community’s holistic approach to improving living conditions and fostering personal development among its residents.
Funding for the Lincoln Avenue Apartments has been secured through a collaborative effort involving multiple stakeholders, including the City of Buena Park. Notably, CalOptima Health has committed an million grant aimed at supporting housing solutions for Medi-Cal beneficiaries, further highlighting the public and private sectors’ concerted efforts to tackle the pressing issue of affordable housing in California.
