Edible Book Festival Scheduled for April 1 at UMass Libraries
Calling all foodies and bookworms alike! The annual Edible Book Festival at UMass Amherst is back and better than ever. This year’s event, scheduled for April 1 from noon to 4 p.m., invites participants to showcase their culinary skills by creating edible masterpieces inspired by literature.
Held at the RECESS space on the south side of the second floor of the W. E. B. Du Bois Library, the festival promises a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. From noon to 2 p.m., all visitors are welcome to admire the entries and vote for their favorite creations. The winners will be announced at 2 p.m., followed by the highly anticipated feast where the edible creations will be devoured.
If you’re interested in submitting an entry, be sure to complete the submission form by 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 31. Entries must be delivered to the RECESS space between 10 a.m. and noon on April 1. Judged by a panel, entries will compete in categories such as Best Visual Presentation, Funniest/Punniest, and Most Creative Use of Ingredients. The coveted title of Best in Show will be determined by popular vote.
