Fatherhood Skills Luncheon: Empowering Dads with Parental Knowledge

Good Dads Luncheon Program Advances Parental Support for Local Fathers

(St. Joseph, Mo.) – The Good Dads Luncheon, an initiative aimed at equipping fathers with essential parenting skills, is entering the final stretch of its 16-week program, which is now 12 weeks underway. This initiative, designed to help fathers from diverse backgrounds — including those who may have faced challenging circumstances — focuses on building stronger families and fostering healthier community dynamics.

Each session of the program encourages fathers to deepen their involvement in their children’s lives, providing a supportive environment where they can share experiences and strategies with one another. Recently, participants attended a presentation featuring motivational speakers and encouraging video content aimed at bolstering their confidence and skills as parents.

Tim Doyle, the director of the local chapter of Good Dads, emphasized the importance of guidance and support in effective parenting. “The Good Dads’ mantra is building healthy families, one dad at a time. Many of us, like myself, didn’t have the ideal role models growing up to teach us how to be a good father,” Doyle remarked. This sentiment resonates with many fathers who are eager to break the cycle of inadequate parenting knowledge and practices.

The program not only provides instructional guidance but also fosters a sense of community among participants, allowing fathers to form connections and share support networks that extend beyond the classroom. Studies have consistently demonstrated that an engaged father positively impacts a child’s emotional and social development, thereby underscoring the vital role this program plays in nurturing healthier family structures.

With only four weeks remaining until graduation, participants are quickly approaching the culmination of their journey, which celebrates their commitment and growth. Additionally, interested fathers will have the opportunity to enroll in a new class set to begin this summer, further expanding access to these invaluable resources.

The Good Dads Luncheon is emblematic of the growing recognition of fathers’ roles in child-rearing and family stability. By investing in the capacity of fathers to foster loving and supportive environments, communities can uplift their youngest members, laying the groundwork for resilient and thriving families.
