Stasys Museum to Open with ICON-O-STASYS Exhibition
The Stasys Museum is set to open its doors on May 31, 2024, in Panevėžys, Lithuania. Named after the renowned artist Stasys Eidrigevičius, the museum aims to enrich the cultural landscape of the region. Stasys is known for his diverse talents in painting, graphic art, photography, set design, writing, directing, installations, sculptures, and performances. The museum spaces will reflect his multifaceted creative world and artistic techniques.
The exhibition, titled ICON-O-STASYS, will cover over 1000 sq. m. including three museum floors and an outdoor installation. Curated by Lina Albrikienė and Stasys Eidrigevičius’ son, Ignacy Eidrigevičius, the exhibition invites interpretation not only through its contents but also with its title. Stasys’ work has garnered international recognition, with over 40 awards worldwide.
The museum features a panoramic rooftop terrace, a gastro-café, and a cinema for non-commercial films, setting it apart as a dynamic cultural hub.
