Enhancing Mindfulness at WPI: Join Mindful Wednesdays and Thursdays
In today’s fast-paced environment, where stress is often a constant companion, institutions are increasingly recognizing the importance of mental well-being. The Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is addressing this need by introducing “Mindful Wednesdays” and “Mindful Thursdays”—dedicated drop-in meditation sessions aimed at cultivating mindfulness and reducing stress within the campus community.
These sessions are designed to be inclusive, catering to individuals from all backgrounds. Whether you are a seasoned meditator or someone entirely new to the practice, WPI offers a supportive atmosphere led by a certified meditation instructor. This ensures that participants receive guided meditations tailored to their varying levels of experience.
Mindful Thursdays, scheduled from 2:15 PM to 2:35 PM, occurs in the Center for Well-Being located in Daniels Hall, Room 102E. For those who prefer or require flexibility, the option to join sessions via Zoom is also available, making the practice accessible to everyone. The Zoom link for remote participation is https://wpi.zoom.us/j/186050714, allowing members of the WPI community to join from any location.
To further enhance the mindfulness experience, WPI will send out a weekly email every Friday titled “Mindfulness Tools To-Go.” This communication will include a variety of resources, such as meditation recommendations, poems shared during the sessions, and additional mindful practices that individuals can incorporate into their daily routines. This initiative not only provides ongoing support but also fosters a sense of community among participants.
