New Free After-School Program for Students Launched in Harris County Precinct 4

Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones is set to launch an innovative and complimentary after-school program this August for local families, named “Stay After School With Precinct 4.” This initiative aims to support working parents and enhance student engagement by providing structured activities and resources for children in grades kindergarten through fifth.

Aligning with the 2025-26 academic calendar of the Houston Independent School District (HISD), the program will be hosted at two senior education centers within the county, which have been chosen for their accessibility and capacity to foster a safe, encouraging environment. The program’s schedule runs Monday through Friday, starting from August 12, 2025, to June 4, 2026, operating from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. However, it will not be available during major holidays and school breaks.
