PosiGen announces high school art competition to celebrate World Sun Day and artistic expression

Inaugural contest encourages High School students to let their art shine

ST. ROSE, LA – PosiGen, a leading provider of affordable solar power and energy efficiency solutions to homeowners, is excited to announce its first-ever Solar Energy Art Competition for students. The company is inviting high school students in the metro New Orleans area to create artwork that showcases their talent and creativity to bring the benefits of solar to life. The contest is now open for submissions through May 19, 2024. The PosiGen Solar Energy Art Competition, “Radiant Perspectives: Illuminating Solar Energy,” hopes to inspire artistic expression and raise awareness of solar energy benefits in a visually captivating way. Participants are asked to submit artwork that highlights the positive impact of solar panels on saving money, fostering environmental sustainability, and contributing to the betterment of the community. Artwork submission categories include sketches, paintings, and drawings; digital paintings and graphic designs; and photography (landscape, abstract, architecture, or documentary-style photos).

“We are launching this inaugural Solar Energy Art Competition as part of our commitment to promoting sustainability and creativity to supporting the New Orleans community.” said Jhané Wilcox, PosiGen’s Senior Marketing Director of Content and Creative. “Art has the power to inspire and foster change and we hope this contest will help showcase the many talents of our youth while highlighting the importance of solar energy and the role we can all play in environmental stewardship.” The competition is open to high school students residing in the New Orleans Metro area including the Jefferson, Orleans (coterminous with the city of New Orleans), Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, and St.Tammany parishes. Contestants must be enrolled at an accredited high school or home school program to be eligible. Finalists for each category will be chosen from public voting and winners will be selected by a panel of judges from the PosiGen Executive Leadership Team. Over $2,400 in prizes will be awarded and the winning artwork will be on display in PosiGen buildings.
