Prince George’s Invests .2M in Health Assures Program
Prince George’s County has approved a budget of .250 million to enhance the Health Assures Program, an essential initiative aimed at reducing the burden of uncompensated care for uninsured patient visits at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
The Health Assures Program focuses on providing low-cost or free medical, behavioral, and dental care services to eligible uninsured individuals who reside in the county.
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks expressed the county’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of residents through the Health Assures Program. She stated, “By offering crucial health services to those without insurance, including undocumented individuals, we are fostering a community where every resident can attain optimal health.”
Individuals eligible for the Health Assures Program are those without insurance, not qualified for other government assistance programs, and living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
