Seaside Jazz and Blues Festival 2024: A Musical Tribute and Scholarship Fundraiser
The Seaside Jazz and Blues Festival 2024 is set to take place from March 15-17 at the Seaside Convention Center, located at 415 First Avenue. This three-day event will showcase the musical heritage of Seaside, Oregon, and pay tribute to the late Kyle Rieger, a beloved band director of the Seaside School District.
Featuring sixteen dynamic bands spanning jazz and blues genres, the festival will highlight the historical significance of these music forms in Seaside. Attendees can enjoy live performances and interactive workshops on guitar, organ/sax/drums lessons, jazz history, improvisation, and more.
But the Seaside Jazz and Blues Festival is more than just music – it’s a cause. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for students of the Seaside School District, helping them pay for band camps, instrument rentals, and purchases. A special gift will also be given to a graduating senior pursuing music in college.
Seaside has a rich musical heritage with iconic venues like The Bungalow Dance Hall and The Pypo Clubs hosting legendary artists such as Duke Ellington and The Kingsmen. The festival aims to honor this legacy while supporting music education in the community.
