“Small Improv Fest”
The Little Improv Festival returns to the Bristol Improv Theatre for 2024!
After a successful debut last year, The Bristol Improv Theatre is excited to announce the comeback of The Little Improv Festival for 2024! The festival will kick off at The Bristol Improv Theatre in Clifton on Friday, March 22nd for the launch, followed by a full day festival on March 23rd.
Renowned UK improvisers Susan Harrison and Justin Brett, both known for their involvement in the West End and Edinburgh Fringe’s ‘Showstopper! The Improvised Musical’, will open the festival on Friday, March 22nd. They will also conduct workshops during the day for aspiring improvisers looking to learn from seasoned performers.
The workshops will be followed by an evening performance of Susan and Justin’s improvised folk musical, ‘These Folk’, featuring live guitar and percussion. Everything from characters to music will be created on the spot.
On Saturday, March 23rd, the Bristol Improv Theatre will be bustling with shows, classes, and improv jams throughout the day. The bar stage will showcase performances from local improvisers, with opportunities for audience participation. Various improv workshops will be held in different areas of the theatre, catering to a wide range of interests from musical improv to beginner’s sessions.
To close the festival on Saturday evening, the popular flagship show Up the Antics will present The Antics Joke Show, featuring the London supergroup Hell Yeah! This powerhouse cast of award-winning queer performers have received rave reviews and have appeared on various media platforms.
