‘The National Film Board of Canada at the Annecy Animation Film Festival’
The National Film Board of Canada is set to make a strong showing at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival with four short films in the lineup. Three of these films are in official competition, including the highly anticipated works by Torill Kove, Michèle Lemieux, and Ryo Orikasa.
Torill Kove’s “Maybe Elephants” and Michèle Lemieux’s “Le tableau” made using the Alexeïeff-Parker pinscreen are among the notable entries. Additionally, Ryo Orikasa’s “Miserable Miracle” will be showcased at the festival. Filmmaker Jo Roy will also present her unique film, “Corpus and the Wandering,” in the Off-Limits Competition. These films draw inspiration from various art forms, including poetry, dance, and visual arts.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, scheduled for June 9-15, 2024, is the world’s largest festival dedicated solely to animation. It serves as a crucial platform for animation creators and professionals to come together annually and celebrate the art of animation.
