Vail Music Festival awarded grant for orchestra residency

The Bravo! Vail Music Festival has received a ,000 Grants for Arts Projects award from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the 2024 residency of Mexico’s Sinfónica de Minería. This grant is part of the NEA’s initiative to award over million in Grants for Arts Projects in the second round of fiscal year 2024.

NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD, praised projects like Bravo! Vail’s Sinfónica de Minería residency for their creativity in connecting communities through the arts. The NEA believes that investments in art and design contribute to the advancement and improvement of various aspects of communities, including cultural vitality, health, wellbeing, infrastructure, and the economy.

The Sinfónica de Minería, led by Artistic Director Carlos Miguel Prieto, will kick off Bravo! Vail’s 2024 Festival with three Orchestral Series concerts on June 20, 22, and 23, 2024, as part of the NEA-funded project.

Bravo! Vail Executive Director Caitlin Murray expressed her gratitude for the NEA’s support, highlighting the significance of featuring the first Latin American orchestra at the festival. The residency of Sinfónica de Minería will not only showcase the talent of this Mexican ensemble but also celebrate the vibrant and diverse community in the area. This grant marks the largest award Bravo! Vail has received from the NEA to date.
