Winners announced for B green bank funding

Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled a billion green finance program aimed at providing more Americans with access to the benefits of the clean energy transition. Speaking at an event in Charlotte, North Carolina, Harris emphasized the importance of ensuring that every community has the opportunity to participate in the clean energy economy.

Harris highlighted the barriers faced by residents of disadvantaged rural and urban communities, including limited access to capital. These barriers make it difficult for individuals to start businesses, improve the energy efficiency of their homes, or invest in technologies like solar panels and electric vehicle charging equipment.

The administration’s green finance grants are intended to address these disparities by directing funds to communities that have historically been marginalized. Harris stressed the need to support those who have been “left out and left behind,” signaling a commitment to promoting equity and inclusivity in the clean energy sector.

The initiative represents a significant step towards expanding access to clean energy resources and opportunities for all Americans. By prioritizing communities that have been historically underserved, the program aims to create a more equitable and sustainable future for the nation.
