‘New Scholars Program Introduced by Hamilton Center’
Hamilton Center Inc., based in Terre Haute, has announced a new partnership with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College to launch the HCI Scholars Program. This program aims to provide reduced tuition to employees of the behavioral health services provider who are interested in pursuing degrees in health care or administration.
The collaboration comes in response to the high demand for mental health professionals. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College President, Brennan Randolph, expressed gratitude to Hamilton Center Inc. for their partnership, highlighting the program as a beneficial initiative to address the need for mental health professionals in the Wabash Valley.
Employees participating in the HCI Scholars Program can receive tuition discounts of 20% or 40%, depending on their chosen field of study. Eligible programs include master’s degrees in clinical mental health counseling, business administration, leadership development, and health care administration. Bachelor’s degree programs or certificates in addiction counseling, as well as the doctoral program in global leadership, are also included in the initiative.
Melvin Burks, President and CEO of Hamilton Center Inc., emphasized the longstanding partnership between the two institutions, noting Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s reputation for providing quality education. He believes that this collaboration will not only benefit employees but also contribute to the well-being of the community at large.
To support the launch of the program, the Hamilton Center Foundation has pledged a generous 5,000 gift to the college. In return, HCI Scholars are expected to commit to at least two years of employment with the health care provider in Terre Haute or another community in Indiana upon graduation.
This partnership between Hamilton Center Inc. and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College exemplifies a commitment to addressing the shortage of mental health professionals while providing valuable educational opportunities for employees in the field of health care and administration.
