Amazon Teams Up with International WeLoveU Foundation to Clean Park in New Jersey

Middlesex, NJ — A collaborative effort between dedicated volunteers from the International WeLoveU Foundation and Amazon fulfillment volunteers led to the removal of 900 pounds of trash at Mountainview Park in Middlesex, New Jersey. The cleanup, which took place on May 26, 2024, aimed to enhance the park’s greenery and natural surroundings while preventing debris from reaching the Raritan River and ultimately the Atlantic Ocean.

The event saw 66 volunteers from WeLoveU and 89 Amazon volunteers come together to promote environmental protection and community service, aligning with WeLoveU’s mission of sustainability and community improvement. Beyond the cleanup activities, participants enjoyed face painting, games, Amazon gift raffles, and food, adding a festive atmosphere to the event.

WeLoveU’s Clean WORLD Movement, an environmental initiative that has been ongoing since 2009, focuses on cleaning polluted areas to create a cleaner world for current and future generations. The organization has conducted cleanups in 58 countries, engaging over 250,000 participants in over 1,600 cleanups.

Kaushik Kashyap, Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, expressed pride in the partnership with WeLoveU and the opportunity to support the Middlesex community, with Amazon donating ,000 towards the cause. WeLoveU’s Executive Director, B.J. Hu, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address littering and pollution, underscoring the need for collective action to protect the environment.

The successful cleanup at Mountainview Park serves as a testament to the impact of community collaboration and the dedication of volunteers in promoting a cleaner and more welcoming space for the neighborhood. Through such initiatives, WeLoveU and its partners continue to inspire others to join in efforts to preserve the environment and make a positive difference in local communities.
