Headline: “2024 Viña del Mar Festival Kicks Off With Alejandro Sanz Performance, Manuel Turizo Makes Debut”
Spanish singer/songwriter Alejandro Sanz made a triumphant return to the Viña del Mar International Song Festival after an eight-year hiatus. The event, which took place at the Quinta Vergara in Chile, saw Sanz captivate the 15,000-strong audience with his live performances of hit songs like “No Es Lo Mismo” and “Deja Que Te Bese.”
The concert opened with a video intro of Sanz narrating the beginning of his autobiographical song “Bio,” followed by his live appearance on stage accompanied by a band of talented musicians. Sanz expressed his joy at returning to the Viña del Mar stage and promised a special night for the audience, which he certainly delivered on during his hour and a half-long set.
One of the standout moments of the night was when Sanz dedicated the song “Looking for Paradise” to the volunteers who had been aiding victims of recent fires in Viña del Mar. The singer received immense love and support from the audience, who sang along to classics like “Corazón Partío” and honored him with Silver and Golden Gaviota Awards for his artistry and solidarity.
Colombian singer Manuel Turizo also made his Viña debut that evening, performing a dynamic set of ballads, urbano, and tropical music that electrified the crowd. Turizo received his first Silver Gaviota Award and left a lasting impression on the audience.
The festival continued with performances by Andrea Bocelli, Miranda!, Maná, Anitta, and more, showcasing a diverse lineup of international and Chilean artists. Fans can catch the festival on the Star+ streaming platform and the festival’s YouTube channel for a week of musical celebrations.
