Lenovo Unveils New ThinkSystem AI Portfolio Powered by Blackwell in Partnership with NVIDIA – Analysis of High-Performance Computing Trends

Lenovo and NVIDIA have collaborated to introduce the Lenovo ThinkSystem AI servers powered by NVIDIA B200 Tensor Core GPUs, ushering in a new era of generative AI for businesses and cloud computing. Pat Moakley, Lenovo’s Director of Marketing for HPC & AI, discussed the unveiling of Lenovo’s latest server platforms at GTC 2024 in an exclusive interview.

The new servers leverage the cutting-edge NVIDIA Blackwell architecture’s generative AI Engine, along with the faster NVIDIA NVLink interconnect and advanced security features. These servers are equipped with NVIDIA B200 GPUs, which offer up to 25 times more real-time inference capabilities to accelerate trillion-parameter language models. This makes them ideal for demanding AI, data analytics, and HPC workloads.

Lenovo’s liquid- and air-cooled platforms provide flexibility to support a variety of workload requirements, drawing on the company’s extensive knowledge and experience in tailoring configurations to meet each customer’s generative AI needs.
