“Realist Artists Can Seize Opportunity in ARC Salon Competition”
The Art Renewal Center (ARC) of New York has announced the 17th International ARC Salon Competition, calling on artists from around the world to participate in the largest competition dedicated to 21st-century realism. Established in 1999, the ARC is a non-profit educational foundation that has been instrumental in reviving realism in the visual arts. The competition offers artists the chance to gain international exposure and recognition, as well as win cash prizes totaling over 0,000.
The event, which first took place in 2004, attracts artists from 75 countries, with selected works displayed at Sotheby’s New York. The next edition promises to showcase the selected works at Sotheby’s new flagship location on Madison Avenue in the summer of 2026, coinciding with the official award ceremony. This exhibition is expected to draw artists and art enthusiasts from across the globe to experience contemporary realism.
Submissions for the competition are open until June 13, 2024, across various categories such as figurative, portraiture, imaginative realism, landscape, still life, and life model, including a special category for teen artists. Artists working in mediums like painting, drawing, and sculpture are encouraged to participate. A panel of more than 50 jurors with diverse expertise will select winners, honorable mentions, finalists, and semi-finalists.
Winning artists will have the opportunity to be showcased on the ARC website, which garners two million visitors annually, and receive exposure through the organization’s partners, including renowned publications like Fine Art Connoisseur and American Art Collector. The ARC Salon Competition presents an exceptional opportunity for artists to gain exposure and advance their careers in the realm of contemporary realism.
