EDP Renovaveis SA Completes Monde de Vez Solar Park in Portugal, Powering Thousands of Homes with Clean Energy

Renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis SA has successfully completed the 21-MWp Monde de Vez solar park in central Portugal, alongside the existing Sao Joao wind farm. This marks EDPR’s second hybrid facility, with the solar park expected to generate 31.4 GWh of clean electricity annually. Together with the wind farm, the facility can produce 79 GWh of renewable energy per year, enough to power 23,000 local families.

EDPR’s head in Portugal, Hugo Costa, has stated that the company plans to continue developing hybrid projects in Portugal, with an expected implementation of another 700 MW in similar projects in the coming years. EDP currently has over 1,600 MW of hybrid projects under study or development in Portugal and Spain.
